Brian Ransome Cook
Brian Cook is founder and president of PowerCheck Electrical Safety Services, a Vancouver-based company offering electrical safety assessments for the insurance industry throughout Western Canada. Mr Cook has an in-depth knowledge of electrical systems in older buildings and is keenly interested in electrical safety. He is a licensed electrical contractor and a registered “Electrical Field Safety Representative”, a designation issued by BC Safety Authority. Mr. Cook's expertise is founded on 36 years experience in the electrical field. He has a comprehensive background in both residential and commercial electrical systems.
Mr. Cook has worked as a consultant for BC Hydro and the National Research Council of Canada. He has authored post-secondary curricula on electrical systems and has lectured on electrical safety at University of British Columbia. He has written numerous papers on the subject; some of which have been published in prestigious journals such as “Power Engineering”.
Mr. Cook lives in Vancouver, with his wife and three children.
