Brian Ransome Cook
Brian Cook is the founder and president of PowerCheck Electrical Safety Services. PowerCheck is a Vancouver-based company founded in 2006. PowerCheck provides independent third-party electrical risk evaluation of older buildings for the insurance industry, throughout BC.
In 2013 Brian was awarded the Lieutenant Governor Safety Award by the BC Safety Authority (now Technical Safety BC) for his work developing standardizing electrical examinations of older houses for the insurance industry.
Brian is keenly interested in education on electrical fire risks in older houses. In 2017 he delivered lectures to contractors for the BC Safety Authority on old house wiring systems. Since 2020 he delivers a monthly lecture via ZOOM to the insurance industry on electrical fire risks in old houses.
Brian's expertise is founded on over 40 years experience in the electrical field. He is a Master Electrician and has written numerous articles in professional electrical journals on electrical safety.
